Muhairwe to launch book

Professor Apolo Nsibambi, the premier, is expected to launch a book on “Making Public Enterprise Work” at the Sheraton Kampala Hotel on Monday.  The book was authored by Dr. William Muhairwe, the National Water and Sewerage Corporation boss.

There will be presentations by Robert Kabushenga, the Vision Group chief, Prof. Wasswa Balunywa, the Makerere University Business School head, Dr. William Kalema, and Dr. Gitahi Githinji, the Nation Media Group managing director.

Muhairwe explained that the idea of writing a book was conceived by him and colleagues. “About five years ago, I alongside my colleagues at NWSC conceived an idea of profiling our experiences not only in NWSC but also look at how the public enterprises can succeed,” he said.

“The book is currently selling like hot cakes in the international market. I hope Ugandans take this advantage and also buy,” Muhaiwre added.

He disclosed that the Muhairwe Education Trust Fund would be established to cater for the education of the disadvantaged children in rural areas.

“This will be the first individual scholar fund in the country. We have got overwhelming support. “More people are ready to support the fund,” he noted.
